June 15th marks our fourth wedding anniversary. When my Mom came over to babysit so we could go on a movie date, she surprised us with a very Merry Birthday-Versary gift and got us tickets to go see Wicked. We saw it 3 years ago when the tour was here last time in Vancouver, and we really enjoyed it. This time we were in for a very special treat because we were treated to orchestra seats. Thank you Mom!
My Mom came over to watch Everly for us again, and we headed out to Vancouver to celebrate our anniversary a few nights early… on Friday the 13th, with a full moon. The show did not start until 8pm, and we got stuck in traffic on the way there, but we needed to get some dinner. Jason works near the Queen E so he recommended we go to Fatburger and split something. I’ve never been there before so I was not sure what to expect or if I would even like the burgers from there. I’m picky, what can I say. I am so glad we shared a burger, one would have been way too much for me, and was it ever yummy! I told Jason date night dinner out to Fatburger again some time is ok with me (especially since there is one closer to home).
We were that cheesy couple who went out in a matching outfit, but there was something special behind what we wore. I wore a purple dress I brought with us on our honeymoon to Maui, I also wore it for a wedding shower. I also had on the pearl set Jason got for me to wear on our wedding day. We actually had Everly pick which tie Daddy should wear on our night out, and she picked the tie that was from our wedding day that Jason wore. We had a couple comments when we arrived to the venue on how lovely we looked as a couple. Sorry huni, the matching outfits will be continuing.
If you have not seen Wicked and have the opportunity to do so, go! I love The Wizard of Oz, and I really enjoy how Wicked explains just how the Wicked Witch came to be, along with many other characters from the beloved story. It is a stunning, and beautifully done musical. You leave singing songs from it, and you definitely can’t help yourself when so many know Defying Gravity already. Now if only I could figure out how to dress my family up as characters from Oz for Halloween. Hmm…
Now to my hubby… Thank you for a wonderful anniversary. 4 years. I am so thankful that God blessed me with the most incredible best friend, husband, and daddy to our daughter. You are truly incredible. Thank you for always being so easy going, capable of handling my stubbornness, and full of love for Evie and I. I am looking forward to what God has in store for us and our future together. Love you so much!
