Disclosure: I was kindly gifted a pair of Tieks to review and share my experience with you all. As always, all opinions, thoughts, and blister-free celebrations are entirely my own!
If you’ve been following along here on Discovering Parenthood, you know that my daily wardrobe needs to balance two things above all else: comfort and style. Between managing a busy household of four kids, running around for school activities, and keeping up with everyday life, I need shoes that can keep up with me without making me sacrifice looking put together.
That is exactly where Tieks ballet flats come in. I recently added the Camel Tan Tieks to my collection, and to say I’m obsessed would be an understatement!

A Major Wedding Regret (And the Dreaded Y2K Flip-Flop)
Fun fact: I actually first discovered Tieks years ago when I was planning my wedding. I knew I wanted a vibrant, colorful ballet flat to wear under my gown, and Tieks kept popping up in my search. Sadly, I didn’t pull the trigger back then and went a different route. After finally trying this pair, I am officially kicking myself! I really wish I had gone with them from the start.
One of the absolute best features of these shoes is how beautifully they fold up. You can easily pop them into your purse, a diaper bag, or keep a pair tucked away in a random spot in the car. We have all been there… you’re out at an event, your heels are killing you, and you are absolutely desperate to take them off.
But instead of resorting to the dreaded, cheap Y2K wedding flip-flop (you all know exactly the ones I’m talking about!), why not just start comfortable in the first place? Or at the very least, have your Tieks ready to go in your bag for a quick, stylish swap. Your feet will thank you.
Unboxing a Classic
There is something so incredibly exciting about opening up the shipping box and seeing that iconic Tiek Blue box inside. From the moment it arrives, the unboxing experience feels like a premium treat. Nestled inside, you don’t just get the shoes. Tieks includes a few thoughtful extras that are an absolute game-changer for busy moms.
The flats arrived in the classic Tieks blue box, which had a flower on an elastic holding it closed. In the box was also a compact pouch to protect your folded Tieks in your bag, and a reusable, foldable nylon tote.

The Camel Tan shade is the perfect warm, rich neutral. It’s a gorgeous, buttery leather that feels incredibly soft right out of the box, featuring that signature Tiek Blue stripe and split sole that we all know and love. Because they fold up so compactly, they are also an absolute dream for packing when traveling!

Styling the Camel Tan Neutral
One of the main reasons I chose the Camel Tan color is its sheer versatility. As a mom, I don’t always have the time to curate complex outfits every morning. I need pieces that I can grab and know they’ll look effortless.
Recently, I paired them with a classic, breezy white midi dress and my favorite brown leather crossbody bag. The warm undertones of the Camel Tan Tieks perfectly complement the brown leather of the bag, tying the entire look together. I love to mix neutrals. Whether you’re dressing them up for a weekend brunch or throwing them on with a pair of distressed denim and a tee for running errands, this color seamlessly adapts to your wardrobe.

All-Day Comfort and Walkability
Of course, a shoe can be as beautiful as it can be, but if it hurts your feet after an hour, it’s not going to cut it for a busy lifestyle. What makes Tieks worth the investment is the comfort from how beautifully they mold to your feet over time.

You can see just how beautifully they mold to your feet. The leather is incredibly flexible, meaning there is no painful rubbing or blisters on the back of your heels, even when you’re logging miles on concrete pathways. The rubber split-sole provides great traction and support, making them comfortable enough to wear for hours on end while tackling your daily to-do list.
Even when you finally get a chance to sit down and take a quick breather, these flats look effortlessly chic. They give you that “expensive-looking,” polished vibe while feeling like you’re wearing slippers.

A Quick Note on Sizing
If you’re ordering your first pair, I highly suggest double-checking their sizing guide. Tieks only come in whole sizes, which can make ordering a bit nerve-wracking.
I am normally a true whole size, so I decided to stay with my usual size, and the fit is pretty spot on. For context, I have a wider toe box but a narrower heel. A combination that often makes shopping for flats a nightmare. I found that these accommodate a wider forefoot beautifully without slipping off at the back. While I’d be intrigued to see what a size up feels like, I worry they would end up too big, especially knowing that premium leather naturally stretches and forms specifically to your foot shape the more you wear them.
Warning: opening this box is a slippery slope. Now that I know how amazing they feel, Tieks already has me browsing their website and eyeing up a few other colors!
The Verdict: Are Tieks Worth the Investment?
Let’s talk numbers, because Tieks are definitely an investment. The classic Camel color I have is $210 USD plus taxes, and the price point varies depending on the specific color, print, or leather type you choose. The cost is exactly why I hesitated to buy them for my wedding years ago.
However, I always try to take the “dollar-per-use” rule into consideration for purchases that have a higher cost. When you break down the cost over a shoe you can wear multiple times a week for years, the math quickly makes sense. You truly get your money’s worth.
Final Verdict
If you have been on the fence about investing in a pair of Tieks, or if you’re trying to decide which classic color to start with, I would definitely recommend giving Tieks ballet flats a try and start with a classic neutral like the Camel shade. They are a timeless wardrobe staple that will carry you through every season, matching almost everything in your closet while keeping your feet happy.
