WHISTLER facebook | twitter | instagram Whistler is a place in BC that we feel we can always go to. Any time of year it's a great location to go to for a mini vacation, staycation, whatever you want to call it. We go at least once a year and have done so since before having kids. Today we wanted to share a bit of our recent trip there and reasons why we love going there. We weren't able to leave until after I was one work on a Friday so it was the latest we've ever left to go there. Normally it's a two-hour drive, but this time with two little kids it took a bit longer especially with travelling around dinner time. We had to stop so that the girls could stretch and eat something. If we … Keep Reading!
And there were in the same country shepherds, abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them! And they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, “Fear not! For, behold, I bring you tidings o great joy, which shall be to all my people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ, the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” And suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the Heavenly Host praising God, and saying, “Glory to God in the Highest, and on Earth … Keep Reading!
ELATE COSMETICS facebook | instagram | twitter Have you ever looked into what is inside the beauty products you use? It's something I've just recently started researching into and it made me want to find a clean, eco-beauty product line that I loved. I wanted something that was beautiful and good for my skin. My friend Shannon, introduced me to Elate Cosmetics almost a year ago. We recently met up to have some fun doing our makeup and taking photos so that we could share all about Elate with you. To be honest I've been a bit hesitant to change up my makeup regime. I guess you could say I was stubborn and wanted to stick to what I knew. I had my go-to items that I always used and … Keep Reading!
Do you ever just see something and in that moment realise that it perfectly sums up your current state of parenthood? Perhaps it's the laundry monster in the living room or hallway. Maybe it's the dishes still waiting to be washed in the sink, or the ones that need to be put away in the dishwasher. For us, it would be a photo of all our to-go coffee cups. Yes, I actually saved some of them from our most recent drive-thru coffee stops. We are running on fumes and caffeine right now. Both of our girls have not been sleeping very well and I swear they are tag teaming against us. One wakes up and we finally get that one to sleep when the other decides it's time to wake up for whatever reason. … Keep Reading!
With our recent trip to Whistler knowing what to pack for the girls came easily; their winter gear, pjs, and some Peekaboo Beans. We were introduced to Peekaboo Beans just after Addie was born and their items have become a staple ever since. So of course, Peekaboo Beans came on holiday with us. Play is a big part of being a kid and play time was definitely tied into our time in Whistler. Play is also something incredibl important to Peekaboo Beans and why they put so much consideration into all the pieces that are created. From the playwear we design, to the play dates we pop up, to the playgrounds we build - we're on a mission to bring back play. Peekaboo … Keep Reading!
Needing glasses seemed to be in the genes for me. My parents both wore glasses, my older sister had glasses and so did one of my younger sisters. Growing up I realised I needed glasses by the end of grade 3. By the start of grade 4 I was sporting some amazing bottle glasses but I could finally see the board again! I was destined to need glasses to aid my eyesight. When our oldest daughter arrived concern arose immediately about her eye. As the months went past we were sent to take her to a paediatric ophthalmologist. Since that day she has seen the same paediatric ophthalmologist every six months as we continue to monitor her eye and eyelid. So far her vision is great … Keep Reading!
The other evening we attended the opening night for Cirque Du Soleil: TORUK. This was the first time Jason and our daughter Evie would be seeing a Cirque performance and we were bringing my sister with us too. We were excited to have a family night out at Cirque. When it comes to Cirque du Soleil you can be certain that you are in for a night filled with entertainment, whimsical characters, and performances that leave you pondering how it's even possible for the human body to do such feats. This time Cirque has taken inspiration from Avatar to create TORUK. TORUK is here in Vancouver til December 18th, 2016 at the Pacific Coliseum. The tickets range in price from $41.50 – … Keep Reading!
We took our family photos back in November and I am just getting around to sharing them now since our Christmas cards have been printed and are now mailed. We met up with Danika Lee Photography at Burnaby Lake. We kept going back and forth about where we would take photos.Originally we wanted photos at a Christmas tree farm but that sadly fell through, then we debated an indoor location of some sort. We ended up throwing caution to the wind and decided to brave the outdoors. Thankfully the rain held off til we were heading back to the cars. You can see the skies were just waiting to pour in the photos. We wanted something wintery with a pop of colour. So we added some red to … Keep Reading!
