There are many wonderful blogs out there, Vancouver has a staggering number of bloggers. Since I started Discovering Parenthood, I’ve have been introduced to many more blogs, and I’ve gotten to know other bloggers that are local to me. I want to take some time today to share a few of my favourite blogs and the faces behind them. If you are not following them already on social media, I highly recommend you do! These blogs, and the ladies behind them are incredible!
Tairalyn is the face behind Little Miss Mama. She was one the first blogger I ever met in person thanks to a call for mugs put forward by another local blogger. Since then our daughter’s have developed their own # on Instagram that we use to document when they get to hang out together. She has some of the most amazing hair I have ever seen, and a huge heart for others. If you ever have a fashion question, do not hesitate to reach out to her. She has saved me from fashion disasters several times. You’ll find everything from fashion, food, and family over here.
Modern Mama was started by Connie’s want to get moms out of the house. I have been to several Modern Mama events, and I always look forward to them. I’ve learned a lot thanks to her blog posts, and events. Everything from great places to stay while on vacation, to product reviews. There is so much over on this site you just never know what you will discover. If you have the opportunity to go to a Modern Mama event, do it! You will love it, and you will learn lots. I most recently put some tips on potty training to use, thanks to what I learned from her toddler night.
If you love gorgeous photos, and posts from the heart, you will love what Louise of Talk Nerdy to Me has to offer. A teacher, turned photographer, mom of two boys and a little girl, and now also foster parenting. I really appreciate that she often has posts that are truly raw and full of emotion. You will be grabbing for tissues. We are very thankful to have had her take photos of our family on a couple occasions, and you will love her Instagram feed! She has been a source of inspiration to get more active, and is part of why I made a goal to do more MEC races this year.
Bianca of Bits of Bee is a mom of three and lives on the North Shore. Her Instagram images always leave me wanting to explore more of that area, and to get outside! I warn you come the summer time she will have you wishing that you lived near the same area she does. Her family can be found wadding in a local river, and many other gorgeous places. Since I first started following her I’ve seen her blog grow, and now she is even writing 24 Hour Vancouver. Her blog has left me with a running list of recipes I want to try, and places I want to check out. She has a bit of everything, and you are sure to find posts you love there.
Jessica of North Shore Mama is a bit of a super hero to us. She saved our bacon 2 and a half years ago! We were on the edge of being at our wits end, and unsure of what to do when it came to our daughter’s sleep, or lack there of because we were having such a hard time getting her to nap or go to bed anywhere but in our arms. Thanks to her blog we won a giveaway to get help from a sleep consultant, since that giveaway I’ve been hooked on her posts. She is incredibly kind, and willing to put herself out there with openly honest posts about being a mom. She also does not shy away from hard topics. Plus if you are on the North Shore you will definitely want to be following her.
There are two wonderful moms now behind BC Mom, and I have gotten to know Tara really well recently. She is a constant source of positivity and encouragement. If you were not following before the holiday season you missed out on some great product reviews, and gift ideas. If you are looking into local events and places there is likely to be a review available here. Her daughter is a year older than my oldest, so I find her posts and feed to be a step ahead of where I will be.
Jamie has posts that are full of encouragement over on Styling the Inside. You will find yourself hopeful and encouraged after reading her posts. Her blog has recently been nominated for the 2015 Notable Awards which features the best and brightest millennials and young entrepreneurs in Canada. You can see right away that she has a huge heart, especially for children. As a mom of three girls I am inspired by her drive to be a positive example to them, and everyone around her.
Shannon and I crossed paths when she won a giveaway on my blog, we’ve been in contact ever since. As a mama who has also gone through the tragedy and heartbreak of miscarriages you will find nothing but pure honesty that comes straight from the heart on Adventurous Mama. Shannon has a drive to change the world and bring more happiness to it. I have no doubt she will do it!
Salma of The Write Balance I’ve gotten to know thanks to being nominated in Vancouver Mom, and also through art gatherings where we’ve gotten to put our creativity to work. She shares all about her culture, and I wish I could make half the food she does! Plus she shares meal plans if you are looking for a place to start for being more organized about family meals. You’ll be wanting to try different recipes from her blog in no time. You will also find yourself setting new goals, and working towards them. Her blog covers a bit of everything, and that’s part of what I really love about it.
